Statement of Faith

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.  This inheritance is kept in heaven for those, who, through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.  (1 Peter 1.3-5 NIV)

We Believe:

▪ In the one true God, who has revealed himself in three eternally distinct persons:  God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

▪ Jesus Christ (God the Son, incarnate) was born of a virgin; lived a sinless life; shed his blood for the remission of the sins of humanity through his death on the cross; was raised from the dead on the third day; ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father; and will return for his church.

▪ The Holy Scriptures, in their original writings, to be the only inspired and infallible Word of God.  They are God’s holy Word written by men under divine inspiration.  It is God’s revelation to man for salvation in Jesus Christ.  It is truth without error and holds authority for life, faith and practice.  As God’s Word, scripture, in the form of faithful translations, is useful for teaching truth, rebuking sin, correcting error, and training believers, so that we are made complete, and equipped for the good works that God has for us.

▪ In the existence of Satan and his minions who have control over unregenerate humanity.

▪ In a literal Heaven and a literal Hell.

▪ The extant human race is born under sin as a result of Adam’s transgression and needs a spiritual rebirth from the Father, for which we must accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

▪ God created the human race, and established monogamous, heterosexual marriage as the intended environment for human reproduction, with the family as the basic foundation of society.

▪ Justification/salvation is by God’s grace, through faith and not from or by religious works.

▪ It is the responsibility of each individual to live in accordance to the Holy Scriptures, honestly and to the best of their understanding.

▪ In the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as a manifestation of the Holy Spirit’s ministry through believers― that it is available to all who ask in faith.

▪ In the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the edification of the church.

▪ In divine healing for the physical body, the mind, and the emotions. (Spirit, soul, and body).

▪ In water baptism by immersion as a public testimony of having accepted Jesus Christ as Savior, and following his example.

▪ In the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (Communion).

▪ In tithes and offerings for the support of God’s work; and that it is God’s will to bless and prosper his people.

Our Vision:
To share Jesus, who is our Living Hope, within the church, the community and the nations, by equipping and encouraging believers to go forth as a witness through a Spirit-filled ministry.

Our Values:  The Pursuit of God:  The depth of God’s relationship with us is unfathomable.  Therefore, we continually seek him in prayer, praise, worship, and fellowship one with another in all works of the ministry.

Honoring the Word:  God’s Word is final authority.  We esteem it over opinions, revelations, visions, experiences, and/or any other source we look to for direction.

The Priesthood of Believers:  We recognize God calls all believers to live in his presence and to operate in the talents, gifts, and ministries he has prepared.

Unity:  We will love that which Jesus loves― the whole church.  Therefore, we relate to one another honorably, seeking to preserve the bond of peace, without compromising our calling and place in the Body of Christ.  We will show mutual respect one for another, regardless of race, gender, income, or disability.

Grace and Mercy:  The purpose of the Cross is the redemption of mankind.  Therefore, to the best of our ability we will treat every person with respect, and dignity, patience, and in Christ’s love― pointing them toward godliness.

Relationship:  We present the gospel to non-believers, so they will have an opportunity to receive Christ, repent of their sin and confess Jesus Christ as Lord of their life.

Generosity:  We are stewards of God’s gifts and resources.  When God directs, we will willingly, and not begrudgingly, give as God has put on our heart.

Integrity:  It is important to be honest, real, trustworthy, morally sound, pure of heart, and godly in character.
